Following the hybrid meeting of the Industrial Emissions Directive Article 75 Committee of 19 September 2022, the Commission has launched a written procedure for Member States to vote on the draft Commission Implementing Decisions establishing the best available techniques (BAT) conclusions for the textiles industry as well as for the common waste gas management and treatment systems in the chemical sector. Member States have until 28 September 2022 to vote and the outcome of the written procedure will be notified no later than 12 October.

The Kick-off Meeting for the drawing up of the best available techniques reference document for the production of Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC BREF) will take place as a hybrid meeting from 24 to 28 October 2022.

The IED Article 75 Committee gave a positive opinion on the draft Commission Implementing Decision establishing BAT conclusions for the ferrous metals industry (FMP) through a written procedure due to the COVID-19 situation.

The Kick-off Meeting for the review of the best available techniques reference document for the Surface Treatment of Metals and Plastics (STM BREF) took place as a series of four web-based sessions between 30 May and 7 June 2022.

The seventeenth meeting of the IED Article 13 forum took place on 10 and 11 May 2022. The forum expressed its opinion on the best available techniques reference documents for the Textiles Industry (TXT BREF) and the Waste Gas Management and Treatment Systems in the Chemical Sector (WGC BREF).

The final draft of the BREF on Common Waste Gas Management and Treatment Systems in the Chemical Sector (WGC) has been issued on 10 March 2022. The deadline to receive the IED Article 13 Forum comments is the 20 April 2022.

The final draft of the revised BREF on Textiles Industry (TXT) has been issued on 10 March 2022. The deadline to receive the IED Article 13 Forum comments is the 20 April 2022.

The call for initial positions for the drawing up of the Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) BREF has been issued. Deadline for the LVIC Technical Working Group to submit initial positions: 22 April 2022.

The first draft of the revised BREF for the Smitheries and Foundries Industry (SF) has been issued on 4 February 2022. Deadline to provide comments: 15 April 2022.
