The Best Available Techniques (BAT) Reference Document for Common Waste Gas Management and Treatment Systems in the Chemical Sector has been published.

The Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2508 establishing the BAT conclusions for the textiles industry has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is organising a Workshop on the “Methodologies to prioritise chemicals for prevention and control of emissions from industrial installation” on 13 February 2023 (12:30-17:30 CET).

The workshop will bring together knowledge and views from authorities and industry to discuss and compare practical approaches for inventorying and prioritising chemicals used at industrial sites.

The goal is to identify methods that follow the safety assessment principles defined in REACH and the pollution prevention approach in IED, and that can be applied by site operators as part of their management system.

The Final Meeting for the review of the best available techniques reference document for the Slaughterhouses and Animal By-products Industries (SA BREF) took place as a hybrid meeting from 28 November to 2 December 2022.

The Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2110 establishing the BAT conclusions for the ferrous metal processing industry has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The Kick-off Meeting for the drawing up of the best available techniques reference document for the production of Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC BREF) took place as a hybrid meeting from 24 to 28 October 2022. Over 70 experts in person and 60 online, representing EU Member States, industry, environmental NGOs and services of the Commission participated in the meeting.

The IED Article 75 Committee gave a positive opinion on the draft Commission Implementing Decisions establishing BAT conclusions for the for the textiles industry (TXT) as well as for the common waste gas management and treatment systems in the chemical sector (WGC) through a written procedure.
