The new European Innovation Centre for Industrial Transformation and Emissions (INCITE) information platform has been launched today.
This knowledge hub will support the deployment of innovative technologies and help European industry decarbonise, become more circular and reach the EU zero pollution target.

The Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) Article 75 Committee gave a positive opinion on the draft Commission Implementing Decision establishing the Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions for the Smitheries and Foundries industry (SF). The vote took place through a written procedure, launched after the hybrid meeting of the IED Article 75 Committee on 17 September.
On 17/09/2024, the IED Article 75 Committee will give its opinion on the draft Commission Implementing Decisions establishing BAT conclusions for the smitheries and foundries industry (SF).
The Directive (EU) 2024/1785 of 24 April 2024, amending Directive 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) and Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste, has been published on the EU Official Journal on 15 July 2024.

2024 marks the entry into force of the revised Industrial Emissions Directive, or IED 2.0. To mark this exciting new era, whilst continuing to reflect the trailblazing work that our team here in Seville leads, the EIPPCB is changing its name to become EU-BRITE! This stands for the European Bureau for Research on Industrial Transformation and Emissions. This change will gradually be reflected in all communications and addresses.
The drawing up of the BAT reference document (BREF) for the extraction of ores (including on-site treatment operations), henceforth referred to as the ‘MIN BREF’ has started with the activation of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on 27 May 2024.
