The Directive (EU) 2024/1785 of 24 April 2024, amending Directive 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) and Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste, has been published on the EU Official Journal on 15 July 2024.
The European Innovation Centre for Industrial Transformation and Emissions (INCITE) launch event is taking place in Seville today. 2024 marks the entry into force of the revised Industrial Emissions Directive, or IED 2.0. To mark this exciting new era, whilst continuing to reflect the trailblazing work that our team here in Seville leads, the EIPPCB is changing its name to become EU-BRITE! This stands for the European Bureau for Research on Industrial Transformation and Emissions. This change will gradually be reflected in all communications and addresses.
The drawing up of the BAT reference document (BREF) for the extraction of ores (including on-site treatment operations), henceforth referred to as the ‘MIN BREF’ has started with the activation of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on 27 May 2024.

The nineteenth meeting of the IED Article 13 forum took place on 29 and 30 April 2024. The forum expressed its opinion on the best available techniques reference document for the Smitheries and Foundries Industry (SF BREF).
The launch of INCITE will take place in Seville, Spain, on 21 June 2024. It will be interactive and inclusive, with in-person participation and the option to follow via web streaming. More information to follow, stay tuned!
The final draft of the revised BREF on Smitheries and Foundries (SF BREF) has been issued. The deadline to receive the IED Article 13 Forum comments is the 12 April 2024.
